Default Purchase Upgrade to Hold More Gold

I didn't see this on the "read first before posting" thread. If it's there, my apologies. Anyways, I think for the NCSoft store, there should be a way to purchase an upgrade to how much Plat we can store, on our characters and in our bank. Also a way for ANET to make more money. I didn't buy a single thing from the store when it came out, but would buy this in a New York Minute. I think a lot of other people would as well. Thoughts?

it'd probably lower the price of ectos though. Because, if you get more use for ectos, the price will stay up, if its just for obby armor, imo, i think it'll drop, but idk if it's true or not.

anyways, it would certainly help with the funds, maybe.

I'd love for this to happen so the price of ectos would go down, but I just have to say...if you have that much money, put it to use or something. But I would like to be able to trade things besides ectos and 100k for high end items - just money would be better.

I'm all for anet increasing the gold we can carry. It would let me to finally be able to trade for things without the use of ectos or the like. Ectos are hard enough to get as it is, and marketing selling of ectos is kind of slow, at least every time I look for some.

If you have over a million gold... you can just give things away, not like you actually need that gold nor will it really help... donate it to an event or something.

Though it may help with income for Anet - but i dunno how many people that have over 1 million gold that would also go out of their way to buy an upgrade to increase how much they can hold - I'm sure most are kids with too much time on their hands or ebay'ers *note: most, not all - I don't want a flamewar on myself due to a misunderstanding (again >_>)*

I also see little point to needing more than 100k gold on your character - though that is more reasonable than for the storage.

/indifferent, as I don't know it the resources to do this would be less than the income gained by doing this.

Increasing how much you can hold won't change how much you can trade at once, and I know that's not getting changed.

P.S. If you have so much money that you can't hold it all, you seriously need to spend it.

That or stop farming.

If farming is all you do in game, stop playing for a while. Seriously, when you're not playing, you're not taking up resources on the servers.

/signed on the condition that the only increase is in storage. As long as the cap of how much a player can hold is 100k, then that's fine. That way you'd still need ecto for large trades. I'd like to see the price of ectos go up, not down. xD

i dont think there should be a gold limit in bank.

Having to deal with ectos is just silly IMO.

Everything should be bought with cash. Ectos are for crafting armour, not a replacement for gold.

Wont ever happen though, "too busy with guildwars 2" etc

What if one player buys this and he trades a player who doesn't have it?
Many people, along the many that will buy this, are not going to buy this "upgrade", and probably most trades aren't going to use this function, as it will not meet the requirements for both sides.
Also, I think Anet made the limit on purpose in order to give some items a higher value than they were supposed to have, for example Ectoplasm.
The economy of GW is partly based on this limit, and imo removing it will cause some trouble and imbalance.

BTW, Stop The Storm, I don't think that the ectos thing was in Anet's mind when they made this function, I think the main idea was to be able to raise items' prices (weapons, rare loot).
I think they just wanted to encourage trades of items instead of just gold.

ectos and shards are there for a reason, economy based purely or mainly on gold even for end-game items is a wrong idea that destroyed many games

No, never.

Actually, the system should check the value of items when items with a trader or sold in merchants are added, so no trade can go beyond 100k.

Buy ectos. Or other mats, minis, or rare items.

I agree that no trade should go beyond 100k, including with ectos. I find it so annoying to see someone spamming WTS Tormented staff, 200 ectos. You look at it, you're probably paying over 300k for a 100k staff just because of that item.

If there is no increase to how much gold you have in inventory and storage, then at least make it so that trades can't go above 100k. That means no ectos or other rare items. And again, if you have that much gold, for God's sake spend it or donate it or something. You don't need more.

No do not increase the cap why? because so many stupid rich people have 1000k + stacks of ectos + armbraces and yet all they do is complain. If your running out of space to put your money go to ascalon find a lvl 2 and open trade, or buy a rare mini.

I guess I could see more money on your character for larger trades, but more space in your storage vault? Really? I can't imagine ever accumulating that much money in Guild Wars. I find it incredible this has even been suggested.

Instead of ridiculously overpriced tiny storage tabs they should have sold one Massive storage upgrade package - multiple (4 would be fine) tabs and an increase of gold cap to at least 5mil for a fair price of $20, and I believe they'd made more money than they did now.

But adding even more stupidly small and almost surely overpriced upgrades is BAD. More microtransactions = going Wrong Way.

Seeing how stupidly small is the storage update per $10 spent, I just got myself a new storage account for the same price. A cheap box of Prophecies can get you space for 1,400,000 gold, 220 universal storage slots, 20-80 equip slots and 32 material stack slots. And more XTH abuse for free money.

/NOT signed

bad idea and wrong way.

** MY WAY to do it:
Per character gold limit should stay.
Incresing gold cap in Xunlai should be an option purchasable for INGAME GOLD. Yes! A Goldsink for those who got too much!
I'd suggest costs at:
Xunlai cap: 1M -> 2M : 25k + 1 gold zcoin
Xunlai cap: 2M -> 3M : 40k + 1 gold zcoin
Xunlai cap: 3M -> 4M : 50k + 1 gold zcoin
Xunlai cap: 4M -> 5M : 50k + 1 gold zcoin
Xunlai cap: 5M -> 6M : 50k + 1 gold zcoin
...
no need for any limit here - as long as there's a trade cap the economy would be almost unaffected by this. And myself I wouldn't even use this option more than once - I prefer storing big value in a variety of items, the safest being simple lockpick stacks.

I've added Zcoins to the costs to prevent gold selling companies from making too easy big storages - the need to farm a bunch of zquests on storage accounts would make it significantly harder for them.

Putting this into the NCStore would be SUICIDE, imagine the spread against those who have got it and those who haven't...

Those who can TAKE more than 100k and those who CAN'T.....
